Most Reverend Richard Smith,
Archbishop of Edmonton and Former President of the Canadian Conference of Catholic Bishops, since the pontificate of Blessed John Paul II the Church has been ceaselessly called to undertake a new evangelization. That Pontiff of beloved memory spoke of this newness in terms of methods, ardour and expression, but what does this mean in practice? The presentation by Archbishop Smith will seek to address this question in our Canadian context. Through an exploration of the message that grounds and inspires our efforts, as well as by a consideration of the challenges and opportunities that call forth particular gifts, the Archbishop will offer his perspective on the new evangelization in our day and country.
